ALL PERMANENT COSMETIC PROCEDURES ARE MULTI-SESSION PROCESSES. An initial application is incomplete until after a follow-up appointment, which must be scheduled approximately 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment. There is no additional charge for the follow-up appointment after your initial application as long as it is performed within three months of the initial application.
WHILE YOUR SKIN HEALS, BE PREPARED FOR THE COLOR INTENSITY OF YOUR PROCEDURE TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY
LARGER, SHARPER, BRIGHTER, OR DARKER than what is expected for the final outcome. This is a normal and expected result of the application and healing process. The healing process will take a number of days to complete, depending on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates and new skin regrows to take its place.
Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it best not to make social plans for a day or two following any procedure. Please refrain from swimming and exposure to direct sunlight as well as avoiding activities that may cause intense perspiration for 10 days following the procedure. Anita recommends that you continue to wear sunscreen on brows after healing as well as to wear sun glasses to protect your eyeliner.
Wear your normal makeup and bring your lip or brow pencils with you the day of the procedure.
Avoid tweezing, waxing, electrolysis, Botox®/Fillers, and coloring your brows for two weeks prior to the procedure if possible. This will allow your practitioner the most flexibility to achieve optimal results.
DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES DURING OR IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE. Remember to bring
your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pretreated condition.
Do not use growth stimulants such as Latisse®, Rapidlash8,or Revitalash® for at least one week prior to and one week after your eyeliner procedure.
If you have any history of cold sores/ fever blisters/ herpes simplex, you must contact your physician to obtain and take the proper prescription medication to prevent such outbreaks for at least 4 days before and after the procedure. Many physicians prescribe 12 capsules of 500mg Valtrex. Follow your physician’s instructions.
Two or three applications may be required to achieve the desired results. It is not uncommon to lose up to 70% of the color on the first application.
Look Good Twenty-Four-Seven!
Wake up with make-up and go throughout your busy day without reapplying make-up. Permanent Cosmetics is the ideal solution for women of all ages who want to look their best and enhance their professional image.
Permanent eyeliner can enhance sparse lashes or give more definition to light or faded lashes. Because it doesn’t smear, it is ideal for athletes, contact lens wearers, women who are plagued by make-up that always smudges, and especially for those who have a visual impairment or unsteady hands due to a medical condition.
We have several different styles of eyeliner tailored to the client’s eye shape. You can choose a “Lash enhancement” which is the implantation of pigment between the lashes and just barely above. This is for the client who never wears make-up and wants the illusion of thicker lashes. You can also choose a thin to thick line or a slightly smudgy upper or lower eyeliner.
Please note, the darker the complexion, the less contrast the liner will have in the skin.
Beautifully shaped eyebrows enhance the eyes and draw attention to your cheek bones. They are like a lovely frame enhancing the beauty of a painting! Anyone who wants to restore their brows or reshape their brows will love how this procedure, as it gives the eyes a lift! Anita can create eyebrows on a blank canvas for those with alopecia, trichotillomania, or clients undergoing chemo treatments. You can even change the color of your brows as you age.

What does a procedure involve?
Your first step will be to make an appointment for a consultation to discuss your needs and the procedures which you are interested in.
Anita will discuss the shape which would be most flattering for your face as well as the color which will harmonize with your skin’s undertones. She will show you some before and after photographs to give you an idea of how the procedure can transform and give youth to your facial features.
On the day of the procedure, Anita will spend much time determining the shape before she begins and she adjusts as she works with the client to give you the perfect shape for your face.
Anita will usually schedule 2 to 3 visits to give you the perfect result. During the second or third visit the color can be adjusted, made warmer or cooler if skin chemistry demands it. Anita works conservatively, so she will increase the width of the brow or eyeliner as the sessions progress. This can give a client time to adjust to the look of having their facial features refreshed with color.
What will my new permanent cosmetics look like?
Initially, the pigment in the brows will look dark for several days. Once the skin begins to heal it will lighten and soften.
Eyeliner will initially look very dark even though you may select a light color. The color will start to lighten in several days. As your body goes through the healing process, for some clients tiny raised areas will form where the pigment was applied. This is what makes the pigment appear dark. As the layers of skin start to slough off, they cover the pigment so that it may appear that the color is faded or gone. After those layers completely slough off, the underlying pigment can be seen. Allow the healing process to happen naturally, pulling scabs prematurely may cause pigment to lift.
Will permanent cosmetics change or look bad as I age?
Permanent cosmetics will fade gradually over time, so there will not be an obvious change in your applications. The color will fade and when you return for a touch-up you can also change the color (within reason) as you age.
Will permanent cosmetics be suitable for dark complexions?
Yes, permanent cosmetics can benefit any woman of any age or complexion. Darker skins are particularly good candidates for any procedure.
Can I keep my own brow hair?
Once you and Anita have decided on the best brow shape, any hair within that shape can stay and will only make the work look more natural. Any hair outside the shape can be waxed or tweezed just as you would normally do with your normal brow maintenance.
Are permanent cosmetics really permanent?
The cosmetics implantation technique deposits color pigment into the upper reticular layer of the skin and is considered permanent because it cannot be washed off. Unlike traditional tattoos performed on the body, permanent cosmetics professionals do not use traditional tattoo ink (dye). Permanent cosmetics pigment is more delicate and designed to work with the skin’s undertones and to mimic hair. Every person’s skin is different in regarding pigment retention. Factors which effect longevity of permanent cosmetics are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure. You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above.
A general Color Retention guideline is:
Blondes and light taupe shades may need refreshed every 10 to 12 months
Mid-tone browns may need a yearly touch-up
Dark browns and blacks may need a touch-up every 12 to 24 months
*Please note- if a technician tells you only need one visit to complete your procedure and you will not need a touch-up, then he/she is not being truthful. Run!
What if I am planning to have plastic surgery?
Many women choose to have to have eyeliner done before face lifts so they will look better during the recovery period. If you are considering a brow lift, wait until after the healing process before having your brow procedure.
What if I am using Latisse? Can I still get an eyeliner procedure?
It is very important to stop using Latisse at least 2 weeks before having a permanent eyeliner procedure. Do not start to use Latisse until at least two weeks after you have completed your final procedure.
Is the procedure painful?
Anita uses a topical anesthetic. The sensation to pain will vary between clients. Once the topical anesthetic takes effect, many clients report that they feel no discomfort during the brow procedures. Some clients report the eyeliner procedure tickles.
Is Permanent Cosmetics expensive?
Not if you look at long-term cost and effect. Micropigmentation actually costs little compared to lifelong daily make-up expenses. Permanent make-up doesn’t run or wash off! Consider it a beautiful investment in yourself.
When you go bargain shopping for the lowest price, the work you receive may be reflective with unsatisfactory results. Your face is too important to chance having such serious work done by a technician who does not have the experience, training or artistic talent to achieve the best result.
The consultation is a half-hour appointment which may include a patch test and photographs.
